Meet Our Coaches…

Founder + Coach: Maggie Ricketts

Hi, I’m Maggie — the founder and coach for Maggie’s Majorettes! I began baton twirling at the age of 5 and completely fell in love with the sport. By the end of the year, I had joined a competitive team and went on to twirl competitively for the next 13 years. Throughout my years competing, I held numerous local, state, and regional titles for both DMA + NBTA organizations. I also competed at the National level for DMA and held the National Sweetheart Title in 2009. As a twirler, I was also heavily involved in dance and tumbling, specifically ballet and lyrical classes. In 2011, I began twirling for the University of Tennessee with the Pride of the Southland Band. During my last two years at UT, I served as the Pride of the Southland Head Majorette — Go Vols!! In 2007, I began Maggie’s Majorettes and have now coached hundreds of young girls through their baton twirling journey!

Aside from coaching, I am married to my high school sweetheart, who is now a Blackhawk Pilot with his military unit in Jackson, TN. We have three children — Hassell (7), Sallie Jayne (4), and Dyer (born March 2024). Although I graduated with a degree in early childhood education and taught in the classroom for a few years, I now run my Maggie’s Majorettes program full time. I can’t wait to get to work with you more!
